Holy Name

The Holy Name Society is a men's spiritual and fraternal organization.  The principle objective of the society is devotion and reverence to the Holy Name of Jesus.  The Society has it's origin in the Council of Lyons, 1274, which prescribed that the faithful should have a special devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus.

Every month, St. Matthew's Holy Name Society members gather for a Sunday morning breakfast meeting.  This group is active in many ways at St. Matthew. Every year, Holy Name members spend a weekend at a Men's Spiritual Retreat.

Vocations Team

The Holy Name Society has paired up with the Archdiocese Vocations Office to provide information to men and women who are thinking about becoming a priest, sister, or lay minister of the Catholic Church.  The Holy Name vocations team provides information flyers, brochures, and booklets on the Vocations table located in the Church Lobby.

Special Events

The Holy Name Society sponsors the annual Mother's Day Brunch for all women of the Parish.  Along with their fathers' the Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts help server at this special event.  Everyone has a great time and enjoys the great breakfast.
