Reaching Out
The "Reaching Out" program, formerly Sharing Sunday, was created in light of the success of Sharing Sunday and the Advent Giving Tree Project. However, we have taken Sharing Sunday one step further......
We decided to sponsor different agencies throughout the year. As a parish we now have an on-going opportunity to "Reach Out" to those in need. Please click here to view the monthly list.
We have a wooden collection box, located in the Gathering Space, where items such as non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene products, etc. can be placed. Financial contributions are also always welcome.
Each week the donated items are sorted and at the end of the month, we deliver the items to that agency.
Before the start of each year, parish families receive labels with the agencies and their needs and the month the collection is being done. What a wonderful way to head into a new year!. It is a time of change, of reflection, of hope for the future. There are so many in need, not only during the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter.
Some of the agencies we sponsor include: Meta House, Sojourner Truth House, Casa Maria, Hope House, Guest House, Rosalie Manor, Pregnancy Help Center, Interfaith for the Elderly and various Emergency Food Pantries. In May, 2008 we are also going to feature our Youth who will be going on Mission
