Spiritual Adoption Program for an Unborn Child

Sign up for the Spiritual Adoption program will take place January 17 & 18 during all Masses. Sign up slips at the ends of the pews will be collected after Mass.

Packets including prayer cards will be distributed next weekend, January 24 & 25. The program will begin that weekend (in commemoration of the 39th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade) and continue for nine months culminating with the birth of the unborn child during October, Respect Life month. The conclusion of this program will coincide with the Reaching Out Committee’s October collection of baby items to be donated to local pregnancy crisis centers, which offer alternatives to abortion.

There are millions of unborn babies desperately in need of your prayers. Please consider spiritually adopting a baby and share the love for life that God has given you.

Respect Life

Our committee works to promote respect for life at all stages including the pre-born, the disabled, and the elderly. We encourage the members of St. Matthew's to be active in promoting the respect for life.

Our activities include:

Respect Life Family Project in October (Respect Life Month). - Open to all children of the parish.
Selling Respect Life pins in January (Anniversary of Roe vs Wade). - The funds are used to partially fund the work of the committee.
October collection of items needed by Pregnancy Help Center and Rosalee manor.
Mother's Day Rose Sale in May. Money collected is given to Wisconsin Right to Life.
Educating the parish on Respect Life issues. We inform the parish through the bulletin, handouts, displays, speakers, etc.
Encouraging parishoners to write to lawmakers on Respect Life Issues.
