Baptism
Infant Baptisms (children under age 7) are celebrated  4 times per year within the weekend Masses. Arrangements can also be made to celebrate baptism outside of Mass.  Parents who are interested in having their child/ren baptized, are invited to call Deacon John at 570-9508 to begin the process.   One parent session is a required part of the process.  Upcoming parent sessions are scheduled for: Oct. 4th and 11th, December 6th  March 14th  and June 6th .

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.  Baptisms are celebrated for registered parish members.

Requirements:

  • Parents must attend one of the preparation sessions if it has been more than four years since attending a previous baptismal session. These sessions are held on Sunday evenings four times throughout the year. Contact Deacon John Stodola at 570-9508 to register. It has been suggested that attendance at this session is easier before the child is born, when possible.
  •  One Catholic godparent is required. There may be two godparents, one godmother and one godfather, if preferred by the parents. For someone to undertake the office of godparent it is necessary that they:
    •  Not be the child’s parent
    •  be at least 16 years of age
    • be Catholic, fully initiated (having received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) and a registered member of any Catholic parish.
  • A practicing Christian of another denomination may be chosen as a Christian witness along with a Catholic godparent
