ST. MATTHEW BULLDOGS SOCCER

 St. Matthews offers Soccer to our students in grades K4-8 and participates in the Bay View Parochial Soccer League.  We are governed first by the Archdiocesan rules from the Office of Schools, abide by all sport-specific guidelines put in place by the BVPSL, and then follow additional guildelines carefully added into our by-laws by the St. Matthews Athletic Association to insure that all levels of sportsmanship are adhered to.

St. Matthews is proud to be able to boast soccer teams in all grade levels, beginning in K4 all the way through 8th grade.  St. Matthews is also a proud host to league games on our 4 soccer fields located right on our grounds, hosting grade levels K5, 1st, 3rd, and 5th/6th! 

St. Matthews is excited to have a K4 team this year!  K4 is a program not recognized by the Archdiocese, but however is run in cooperation with a few other local Parochial schools also fielding K4 teams.  Our K4 program is very low key, informal, and run with only one focus in mind for the kids - fun, Fun, FUN!  We want to maintain a fun atmosphere in all sports at all grade levels at St. Matthews, and we definitely start the fun early with our K4 students!

Our K5 through 4th grade soccer teams compete in the Bay View Parochial Soccer League, with a focus on learning the game, how to compete with sportsmanship, and on having fun being able to compete alongside of classmates outside of the classroom environment.  No scores or standings are kept in the younger grade levels.  We have a very healthy K5-4th grade program, with a team fielded in each grade level.
