8th Grade Volleyball Round-Up

Our 8th grade Bulldogs (22-14) certainly ended their St. Matthews volleyball careers by going out with a bang!  On top of their successful win-loss season record, they sincerely took the meaning of "team" to heart.  They played together as competitors and as friends, they accepted no less than 100% from their teammates but did so with respect for one another, and in the end they displayed everything that an ideal example of what an 8th grade parochial athletic team should stand for.

Our 8th graders were also honored with an invitation to play at The Seton, an invite-only, end of the year championship tournament, and represented our school with extreme class.  Our girls played very well in the tournament, advancing through thier first 2 matches before running into the eventual tournament champions and were defeated despite a well played match.  Congratulations to our 8th grade girls team, with a special thanks to their coaches who set a fine example for the girls and were able to get the absolute most out of the team.
